For over a hundred years the Sandringham Hotel Southsea has provided accomodation for guests from around the world. It occupies one of the finest positions in Portsmouth. Overlooking Southsea's seafront common, the hotel offers views across the Solent and out over the Isle of Wight.
It is truly one Portsmouth’s prime locations.
The Sandringham House Hotel is situated in the main tourist area of Southsea. It enjoys a prime position with panoramic views overlooking Southsea Common, the Solent and the Isle of Wight. The hotel is only two minutes walk from Southsea shopping centre and is opposite the Hovercraft terminal for the Isle of Wight. It is also a short walk away from Southsea Castle and the D-Day Museum as well as the Sea-Life Centre.
Southsea common has been voted the best picnic area in the South in a recent competition and its proximity to the main shipping lanes in and out of Portsmouth harbour mean, that it is not unusual to see, from the Sandringham Hotel, the bizarre image of large ships passing majestically though appearing to be sailing on the common itself.
Parking in Portsmouth and Southsea can be tiresome though there is nearby car park which holds a 100 cars just opposite the Hotel.
The interior of the hotel has a warm family atmosphere. All bedrooms are equipped with colour TV, tea and coffee making facilities and, of course, en-suite WCs and showers. Many bedrooms enjoy magnificent views of the Solent and the Isle of Wight. We offer 20 rooms with several of the larger double rooms sleeping 5. There is a lift to all bedroom floors from Reception, but there are 12 steps at the front of the hotel.
Its fair to say that The Sandringham's grander days are now over, but the beutiful rooms make very comfortable rooms and are excellent value for money, probably the most competitive room rates in Portsmouth.
